BANANO Monthly Update June 2019
Jun 1, 2019 • 8 min read
Welcome to another monthly BANANO update! A lot has happened, and since the BANANO community is growing rapidly this update will include not only a recap about what happened in May 2019 but also some more general information for all new BANANO community members.
We’ve decided to rebrand from the previous “Social Media Recap” format to a full monthly update format, covering all major news, distribution events and developments in the BANANO republic on top of the usual recap about our growth and activity at our social media platforms. Comment below and let us know what you think!
What the Fork is BANANO?
For those of you who don’t know BANANO yet: BANANO is a cryptocurrency powered by DAG technology — here to distrupt the meme economy. Yes, BANANO has memes! And also feeless and near-instant transactions, a highly active community, and active technical development! The BANANO community doesn’t take themselves too seriously, but we’re here for the long run and we enjoy what we do.
On top of this, BANANO is super easy to use. Just try our slick mobile wallet called Kalium and get your first free $BANANO from one of our faucets within minutes! Also, BANANO has a free ongoing distribution through innovative faucet games. You can find more details on our official website: banano.cc, and you’ll find help getting started at banano.how.
BANANO is already traded on several exchanges and not listed on CMC yet, however you’ll find current information collated at Coingecko. Despite our increased ongoing distribution the BANANO price has been pretty stable mostly between $0.0013 and $0.0016 within May 2019:
BANANO on June 1st, 2019:
Price: $0.001436 / 17 Satoshi
Market Cap: $926,966
Rank: #850

What Else Happened in May 2019?
BANANO has finished a community voting at Qtrade exchange on first place — thanks everyone for the support! Details here.
BANANO was featured in two popular articles at Publish0x (Top 10 Microcap Gems/Case study by the Publish0x team).
BANANO was featured in a pretty cool youtube video made by a community member, here it is:
If you were one of those who accidentally entered their seed/private key into the form at our original yellow miningpool website make sure to read this announcement — you might be eligible for a partial compensation. Everyone please make sure to never expose your seed/private key anywhere!
In terms of distribution, we have meanwhile four faucets running permanently — which is a huge improvement compared to earlier times. A short overview:
MonkeyTalks
An instant & self-sustaining faucet, combined with messaging
BananoMiner
Earn BANANO by contributing CPU/GPU power to medical research via F@H
BANANO Powerplant
Browser-based altcoin mining that pays rewards in BANANO
Crane Faucet
Play captchas to get Banano. A variety of captchas that suit every player
Other faucet and distribution events throughout May 2019:
Black Monkey faucet game rounds 6 and 7
Meme Faucet faucet game rounds 13 and 14
Telegram Game Room Event
BANANO What’s in the Box competition
BANANO Dance Contest
BANANO Comic Strip Competition
and many more small-scale giveaways…
Also, we have a bunch of new Telegram groups in even more languages (details further below), and in addition to our recently added accounts at Wechat and QQ, we now also have a brand-new official Weibo (QR) account for interaction without our Chinese community!
This Month’s Special Feature: BANANO and NFT art!
The word about BANANO seems to be spreading also to other crypto-related areas! Some members of our community decided to create original NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) based on the Ethereum network, and one of them, the Banano Samurai created by MLIBTY, has been selected for the second Rare Art Fest that happened in New York on May 18th!
The Banano Samurai, a paper toy made by Marco Zubak: its purchase will let you get the proof of ownership on the blockchain and the exclusive access to the pdf file that has to be printed, cut out and constructed to recreate the toy. This NFT is limited to 256 units on MakersPlace!
Another piece of BANANO art just became an official meme! One of our members decided to make a tokenized version of his drawing about the mystical BANANO Yellow Paper, our (soon-to-come 😄) version of the classical whitepaper.
It’s titled “Holy Conception of the Yellow Paper”, limited to 100 units and available on MemeFactory!
So if you made a BANANO related creation be sure to tell us: contributions of all kinds are highly welcome, especially when they are awesome art!
BANANO Distribution Recap
May 2019 was a great month in terms of driving BANANO free distribution forward. As mentioned above, we have several constantly running faucets and on top of this several other fun Faucet Games running regularly!
Within May 2019, we’ve distributed at total of ~35 Million BANANO! Just to name the major events, this has happened through faucet payouts (Bananominer, Banano Powerplant, Monkeytalks, Crane Faucet, Meme Faucet, Black Monkey), tipping allowances and celery (rewards) to all core team members, major contributors and moderators (total ~70 people), and the BANANO airdrop to NANO holders (tx) which is still ongoing.
Tipbots as we have them at Discord, Reddit, Telegram and Twitter are instrumental for showing newly joining members how easy-to-use and fast BANANO truly is, and to actually have everyone use BANANO for what it’s made for — tipping others.
In May 2019 alone more than 815,000 BANANO with a total current value of $1171 were tipped in more than 16,000 transactions through our Twitter/Telegram tipbot!
In total, since the Tipbot was started in Mid April 2019, more than 1.15 Million BANANO with a total current value of $1695 were tipped in more than 23,000 transactions, only at Twitter and Telegram!

Check it out!

BANANO Outlook
The core team and all the BANANO community supporters are constantly working on different new projects adding up to the BANANO ecosphere.
Previously mentioned things being still on the list (and not forgotten!) include execution of the BANANO Airdrop to Dogecoin holders (apologies that this takes so long, many submissions to this were unclear, we’re still working on it!), the BANANO Yellowpaper release, and a proper BitcoinTalk announcement. We can’t provide exact ETAs for those and some other cool stuff still being in the pipeline (such as the CAMO BANANO privacy feature, a new faucet game, real-world airdrops and new potential platforms using BANANO), but we can assure you we’re working on those as much as possible and will get them done one after each other. We’re all here for the long-term!
Stay tuned, and whenever you have an idea and/or ability to contribute to the BANANO ecosphere whatsoever feel free to contact us!
How can YOU help?
